New Orleans Update - John and Lisa returned to New Orleans in December 2006 for their third drip since Hurricane Katrina.  In December 2005 they delivered $2050 in donations from Tapatio's, The Golf Club at Newcastle, HomeStreet Bank and several individuals, plus 28 pounds of beef jerky and pepperoni from Oberto Sausage CompanyGet the complete story and see photos...

It was a full house at the Candidate Forum!  Thanks to The Golf Club at Newcastle, Boy Scout Troop 499, volunteers and our moderator Connie Marshall for making this a great event!  All candidates were there on Oct. 21st:  41st Legislative District House of Representatives position #1 Fred Jarrett (R); Dale Murphy (D); and position #2 Judith Clibborn (D) and Erik Fretheim (R) and  8th congressional District Congressman Dave Reichert (R) and Darcy Burner (D).  You may have seen our banner on KIRO 7 news, or the The Seattle Times article by Jonathan Martin on Sunday Oct. 22nd.

Wine Tasting in Newcastle!  Chamber businesses teamed with local wineries to bring you a series of tastings this summer.  The last tasting was held on July 22nd at Tapatios and featured Christophe Hedges from Hedges Winery. The Golf Club at Newcastle Garners National Attention
The Golf Club at Newcastle was recently recognized for excellence in three national publications:  It ranked number 11 in Golf for Women's all-new ranking of the 50 best public and resort courses for womenit was selected by Business 2.0. as one of the 6 best golf courses within 30 minutes of a major U. S. city; and was included in Golf Magazine's July travel feature article, "Seattle where the Golf is as good as the Cofee."

Troop 499, Boy Scouts of America
Several Chamber Members have volunteered to support Camp Scholarships for 5  Boy Scouts.  HomeStreet Bank, Jensen Roofing, Pacific Capital Resource Group, Appraisal Group of the Northwest, Giles Velte and Mayor & Mrs. Dulcich have pledged their support.  For more information contact Bill Burris at billb499@msn.com

Annual Road Cleanup
We  had a great turnout for the Road Cleanup on March 12th, with support from Troup 499 of the Boy Scouts, Starbucks Coffee, Jet City Pizza, HomeStreet Bank, Pacific Capital Resource Group, Jensen Roofing and Appraisal Group of the Northwest.
