Diamond Awards - 2004


2004 Diamond Awards Dinner
The first annual Diamond Awards Dinner was held on September 7th, 2004, at The Golf Club at Newcastle.   Gulstan Dart, KIRO-7 news anchor, served as the master of ceremonies, with approximately 90 people in attendance.  The event was held to honor contributions to the city and community by local citizens.  Awards were given to the following people:

Nancy Cho, president of Oki Developments Inc., received the award for businessperson of the year for her contributions to the community.

Robert "Bob" Van Amburgh-Whitney was given the senior citizen of the year award for his volunteer work with Seattle area homeless shelters.

Pat Tosch, the first woman Chaplain for the King County Sheriff's Office was given the courage award for her service to the community.

Ian Winn, a Boy Scout, received the youth award for his volunteer service in the city.

Mary Ford, principal of Hazelwood Elementary School received the education award.
